Team Harmony was the name chosen by the late King Hussein of Jordan for the international string of horses that would tour and compete with HRH Princess Haya in pursuit of her Olympic ambition.

HRH Princess Haya first became aware of her dream when her late father gave her a horse for her 6th birthday, the filly, which she named Bint Al Reeh (Daughter of the Wind). This fillys dam, named Kubaila had won the Kings Cup for the Royal Stables. The Kings Cup was an annual trophy of horsemanship which was a combination of jumping, tent pegging and endurance, the classical Arab horse sports.

During the Moscow Olympics, Princess Haya realized as she listened to discussions of the Carter ban of the Moscow Games that to compete at an Olympics was her dream. And was nicknamed after that by her father, the late King, His Olympic Daughter.

Princess Haya competed regionally through the 1980s and early 1990s. She set up the National Jordanian Equestrian Federation, and registered it as a member of the International Equestrian Federation (FEI) . She became the first female member of the Equestrian Team in Jordan, and the first Arab woman to win an individual Pan Arab medal in Equestrianism in Damascus, Syria. (1992 Individual bronze).

In 1994, nearing the end of her university studies in Oxford, England, Princess Haya and the late King Hussein set out a plan for her to train abroad as an International athlete. His hope was that she would become the first Arab women to compete in equestrianism at Olympic and World Championship level. After this he wished that she return to Jordan to set up and structure the fields of Sports and Youth in the country and the region.

Team Harmony, established in 1994, was set up with this ambition in mind. It was very much a family project. The colors originally chosen were burgundy and royal blue on a grey background. His Majesty suggested his daughter draw her own logo that combined a crown with a jumping horse. The grey livery in the colors was a commercial idea to promote Alia The Royal Jordanian Airlines who used the same grey as a base color in their livery.

After much discussion, it was decided that these horses should not only be used to compete internationally, but also be brought on the criterion that after their careers they would be incorporated in a breeding program to produce Harmony Sport horses.

In 1995, Princess Haya set up training base with Alian Storme and the late Paul Darragh in Ireland upon the suggestion of the late Basil Al Asad, son of Syrian President the late Hafez Al Asad. Basil, had also trained and purchased jumping horses from Paul Darragh. HRH Princess Haya made her international debut in Monte Carlo CSIA. After Team Harmonys first season in 1996, which finished in Olympia London CSIW, King Hussein was leading owner on the European circuit, with his Harmony horses winning: 36 International classes, 2 national Grand Pries (Cavan, Dunleary, IRE) and 7 International Grand Prixs (CSIA) and one Volvo World Cup Qualifier (Seville, Spain).

In 1997 1999 The late HM King Hussein moved Princess Haya to Germany to train with the famous Paul Schockmohle who produced riders like the World Number 1: Ludger Beerbaum 4 time Olympic medalist. His Majesty also wished for Haya to work on promoting Jordan in Tourism in Germany and German speaking countries, and in her two year training period there she converted the tourism numbers from 2% to 12.5%. Tragically His Majesty Passed away after an 8 month battle with cancer in February 1999, and Princess Haya unhappy in her German base, wished to move closer to home. She based for 6 months in Holland with Dutch team Trainer Hans Horn, while he and his family helped her set up her final move to train with Katie Monahan Prudent, and Alice Debany Clero in Paris for her preparations for the Olympic Games in Sydney Australia 2000.

Princess Haya signed a commercial sponsorship contract with Loro Piana and competed under their colors with the Loro Piana team 1999-2001. The Team then consisted of Rodrigo Pessoa (BRA), Lars Niegburg (GER), and Roberto Arioldi (ITA). When her contract ceased, Princess Haya decided not to return to the old colors she had chosen with her father, but chose instead Black and Gold as the team livery, in his memory.

HRH Princess Haya continued to train with Alice Debany Clero, until the end of 2001, but did her final preparation for the World Equestrian Games in Jerez 2002, with her first trainer, Paul Darragh still from her French base.

After competing in Jerez World Championships 2002, Princess Haya quit top sport as originally planned and moved back to Jordan as her late father had wished, to set up and structure sports nationally. Due to the fact that equestrian facilities were not of a sufficient standard in Jordan to keep the valuable Team Harmony, Princess Haya moved her string to stable in Dubai, which had world class facilities. She continued to work weeks in Jordan and commute to Dubai on weekends to train and compete with Team Harmony. Due to her semi retirement, HRH Princess Haya recruited Abdel Kader Said (EGY) a young rider she believed to be the most talented in the region, to carry the team colors. Abdel Kader based in Holland, continues to fly Team Harmonies colors with great success internationally.

Happily, Her Royal Highness was married to Dubais Crown Prince and UAE Minister of Defense HH Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum on April 10th 2004. She moved to live in her new home in Dubai where her harmony String base throughout the winter months, and they are shipped to England for the summer season, with a view that HRH Princess Haya can ride in a few international events in the summer of 2005.

Another young rider was recruited in January 2005, Yasmine Abdullat a Jordanian based in the US, who has already shown exceptional talent and dedication to the show jumping sport.
